Photo measurement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Photo measurement is a colloquial term from the craft that describes a simple method of photogrammetry for dimensioning components and buildings (see construction measurement ) using a photograph and reference dimensions .

It describes the simplest method of single image photogrammetry .

Software products

Commercial software products are used to dimension building facades, roofs and windows. The programs only use simple methods such as centric stretching , some programs even only use the unsuitable linear interpolation . For correct dimensions, the reference dimension and the measured dimension (the allowance ) must lie in one plane.

restrictions

Software products customary up to now do not compensate for optical distortions of the camera lens, which is why only a low measurement accuracy can be achieved.
