Frédéric Gonseth
Frédéric Gonseth (born April 22, 1950 in Lausanne ) is a filmmaker from western Switzerland . He is in charge of the largest Swiss oral history project to date, Archimob, and the follow-up project Humem .
Life
Frédéric Gonseth attended secondary school and high school in Lausanne. After graduating from high school in 1968, he studied sociology at the University of Lausanne (licentiate 1972). This was followed by an internship as a journalist at the Tagesschau of Swiss television in Zurich (1973–1975) and an editor-in-chief at la Brèche magazine (1975–1980).
Gonseth has been an independent director and producer since 1980, with many of his films being made in collaboration with his wife Catherine Azad. He is a freelancer for the French-speaking Swiss television TSR , a founding member of the Fondation Vaudoise pour le Cinéma, a founding member and president of the Association of Filmmakers in French-speaking Switzerland (ARC) and a founding member and president of the Archimob association.
