Question and answer system

A question-answer system is a knowledge-based system , the human users in natural language information on (also in natural language asked) questions issued. In addition, question-answer systems are already able to receive information in natural language form in the learning phase necessary for knowledge-based systems . The particularly close relationship to natural language in all phases of use, which is intended to enable an efficient dialogue between man and machine , distinguishes question-answer systems from other knowledge-based systems.

Current question-answer systems are evaluated in various international forums, e.g. B. at TREC (English focus), CLEF (European focus) and NTCIR (Asian focus). The following institutions develop German-language question-answer systems (see also CLEF): Saarland University , FernUniversität in Hagen , etc.
