Fragmentum Bodleianum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fragmentum Bodleianum (No. 921 after Rahlfs , Siglum Δ) is a fragment of a parchment manuscript from the 4th or 5th century. It contains the text from the biblical book Daniel 14: 20–41 (Bel and the dragon) in the version of Theodotion in Greek ( Septuagint ) with gaps ( Lacunae ). Two leaves have survived that are described in Uncials above an older text, a homily from around the 4th century.

The sheets were purchased in Egypt and given to the Bodleian Library in Oxford in 1888 . There they are with the signature Ms. Gr. bibl. d. 2 (P).
