Fralau

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fralau , actually Franz Paulus ; (* 1963 in Mering near Augsburg ) is a deaf German magician who also became world champion in this field in 2004.

Life

The journey into the magical world began at Christmas 1979. Shortly before his mother's death, Franz Paulus was given a magic box at the age of eleven. Even if this aroused the desire to turn magic into a profession, Franz Paulus initially completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic. As a deaf person, entry into professional life was not easy.

Initially only as a hobby, Franz Paulus played pantomime at events for the deaf and created decorations for theater and stage backgrounds.

Fralau completed his training at the Magic Academy in Munich, where he was initially not accepted because of his lack of hearing, as there were concerns as to whether a non-hearing person would be able to follow the lessons sufficiently to obtain a degree due to his disability.

Fralau does not specialize in certain categories, but practices illusion , levitation , micromagic , general magic and comic magic.

He is married and has a daughter.
