Frame of Mind is a German Electronic - Industrial band from the area Aschaffenburg , 1987 by Marko Hein ( vocals ) and Michael Friedrich ( synthesizer was founded). In 1992 the band broke up in the former formation. It wasn't until 2016 that Frame of Mind was brought back to life by Marko Hein and released new material on Infacted Recordings .

history

Even before Frame of Mind, Marko Hein and Michael Friedrich played in a synthesizer-electronic band called New Music Concept together with the musicians Thilo Schneider and Marc Wagemann. After the band broke up, Hein and Friedrich formed Frame of Mind. There was a style change with an often hard and progressive impression in the industrial style environment due to the use of background noise, sampled sounds and hard bass. The first and only official release in the old line-up is on the Body-Rapture - Sampler by Zoth Ommog, to which Frame of Mind contributed two songs with Love Is ... and ... Is Love . During their time, the band also performed a few live performances, including in the Frankfurt scene club Negativ and at the 1st Wiesbaden Techno Festival.

Due to different musical developments, Hein and Friedrich decided to go their own way. It was only after almost 25 years that Hein met Torben Schmidt, head of the electronics label Infacted Recordings, by chance. Schmidt knew Frame of Mind from the early years and asked whether old demo tapes still existed. Some recordings from old compact cassettes from the rehearsal room were remastered by Infacted Recordings in 2017 and released as a "Classic Edition" in the form of a CD called Murderous Thoughts . At the same time, Hein began to write new pieces. Friedrich lived in Berlin and could not be persuaded to cooperate further. In May 2017 Frame of Mind released the CD Resurrected with new songs, but very much influenced by the old style of the 1990s. The album was mixed and mastered by Claus Larsen from Leather Strip , who was also featured on the original Body Rapture compilation. Larsen also gave his voice to two songs. Shortly after the album was released, another song, Devil in Disguise , appeared on Infacted Recordings' Infacted6 sampler.

In 2018 Marko Hein started a side project with Jan Laustroer from Antibody. An EP called Tick Tock was released through Infacted Recordings in March 2018.

Another album, At the End of Your World , followed in December 2018 , for which the single Nothing Else to Do was released shortly before .

Frame of Mind's first live performance since 1992 took place on December 22nd, 2018, as an opener for the band Suicide Commando in the location Das Bett in Frankfurt.
