François Duchesne

François Duchesne (also Du Chesne , born March 22, 1616 in Paris , † July 8, 1693 ) was a French historiographer . He is the son of André Duchesne and was his successor as royal historiographer.

He completed and published several of his father's books, including:

  • the Historiens de la France collection (1641);
  • l'Histoire des papes , (1653);
  • l'Histoire des cardinaux (1660) ( online ).

He himself wrote a Histoire des Chanceliers (1680)
