François Keller (born October 27, 1973 in Colmar ) is a former French football player and current coach .
Career as a player
François Keller started playing football in the youth department of SR Colmar , where he was active until 1991. After joining Racing Strasbourg in 1991, he signed a professional contract with the club in question in 1992. He made his professional debut after a few years in the B team on July 19, 1995, when he was in the starting eleven in a game in the then Division 1 , against HSC Montpellier , and was replaced by Olivier Dacourt after 85 minutes . By December 1998, Keller had 35 league appearances (across seasons) and reached the round of 16 in the 1997/98 UEFA Cup with Racing Strasbourg . In 1998 he went on loan to English third division club Fulham . At the beginning of 1999 he returned to Strasbourg, where he was exclusively part of the B team until his retirement in 2003.
Career as a coach
In the 2003/04 season, Keller was responsible as a coach for the U-19s. From 2004 to 2011 he was the coach of the reserve team. During this time he also trained as a professional football coach and received his diploma ( Diplôme d'Entraîneur-Formateur ) from the FFF , the French football association , in March 2008 . From 2011 to 2014 he coached the first team of Racing Strasbourg .
Private
Keller is the brother of Marc Keller , President of Racing Strasbourg.
