François Tissard

François Tissard (* around 1460 in Amboise ; † 1508 there ) was a French humanist .

Life

Tissard studied in Paris and Orléans and went to Italy , where he studied Greek and Hebrew . As a professor at the University of Paris , he promoted the publication of the Greek classics, which he edited himself. 1508 he published the first Hebrew grammar in France that the later French king Francis I was dedicated. These books were published by Gilles de Gourmont .
