Francisco Aura Jorro

Francisco Aura Jorro (* 20th century) is a Spanish classical philologist ( Graecist ) and mycenaeologist .

Francisco Aura Jorro held a full professorship for Greek language and literature at the University of Alicante and has emerged as the chief editor of the Diccionario Micénico , a Greek-Spanish dictionary which, for the first time after the Mycenaeae Graecitatis Lexicon (1963) by Anna Morpurgo Davies, encompasses the entire Lexical inventory of Mycenaean Greek ( Linear B ) including evidence of the interpretations recorded. The Diccionario Micénico is a completed sub-project of the Diccionario Griego-Español , which is being developed under the overall direction of Francisco Rodríguez Adrados . A second edition is in preparation.

Aura Jorro has now retired .
