Francisco Gentil Martins (born January 21, 1927 in Lisbon , † March 8, 1988 ) was a Portuguese medic .

Gentil was born as the son of the doctor António Gentil Martins. He studied medicine at the University of Lisbon . In 1950 he came to the Instituto Português de Oncologia (IPO, Portuguese Institute of Oncology ), whose director he later became. His main area of ​​work was cancer research .
