Francisco Henriques († 1518 in Lisbon ) was a Renaissance painter with presumably Flemish roots.

Henriques probably came from the south of the Netherlands, but influences from both the north and the south of the Netherlands can be found in his works. Henriques was mainly active in painting in Portugal . He worked with clergymen, for example when he recorded the lives of virgins in the early 16th century . This painting was supposed to decorate the altar of a cathedral. Between 1502 and 1508 he worked in the church of São Francisco in Évora , he created 16 painting panels, which were thematically rather loosely connected. Among other things, monks of the Franciscan order, the Passion of Christ and again the life of holy virgins can be found on these paintings.

Works
