Francisco Villaespesa

Francisco Villaespesa (born October 14, 1877 in Laujar de Andarax , Almería , † April 9, 1936 in Madrid ) was a Spanish writer .

He came from a family of lawyers, joined literary circles at an early age and led an acting troupe . He is considered a pioneer of modernism .

In 1899 he published his first collection of poems "Luchas" (Eng. Fights). His greatest success was "El alcazar de las perlas" (Eng. Pearl castle) in 1911.
