The collection contains 155 unanimous songs on 160 pages. These are poems by Dirk Raphaelsz Kamphuysen (* 1568 in Gorinchem , Netherlands, † 1627 in Dokkum , Netherlands).

Robert Eitner writes: "The quiet process of the transformation of the old church keys into the 24 modern keys occurs at the time these songs were written. The songbook provides interesting evidence of how one was only half aware of the transformation." He also describes it as a rare example of Dutch music at the beginning of the 18th century.
