Franco Morone (born June 6, 1956 in Lanciano ) is an Italian guitarist , music teacher, composer and arranger specializing in fingerstyle technique. Author of CDs, books and videos of his own compositions and traditional Italian, American and Celtic music. He plays concerts and teaches in Europe, USA and Japan.

Life

Franco Morone started playing guitar at the age of 12 and published his first teaching method on blues guitar in 1986. A bachelor's degree in law from the University of Bologna followed in 1987. He worked as a journalist for the magazines Guitar Club , Chitarre and Chitarra Acustica . Morone has performed with Alex de Grassi , Beppe Gambetta, Peter Finger , Tim Sparks , Leo Kottke , Oregon.

Franco Morone mainly appears solo or with the singer Raffaella Luna, with whom he released two albums. His works have been published on BMG Ariola , Mel Bay , Carisch and Berbén . Franco Morone currently publishes for Acoustic Music Records .

Franco Morone is considered one of the most interesting guitarists on the international music scene. According to the US magazine Acoustic Guitar , he has one of the most unique fingerstyle sounds, and the most prestigious guitar magazine in Japan lists him as one of the thirty great world-class guitarists.

His repertoire combines his own compositions and arrangements of traditional works. In addition to his published albums, many of his lesson books and DVDs are valued by teachers and all generations of guitarists.
