Life

Peter Finger is the son of a conductor. At the age of six he began taking violin and later also piano lessons. In 1962, he took first place in the Jugend musiziert competition for his violin playing . Fingers uncle gave him an acoustic guitar when he was 13 .

Finger studied music in Münster. At the age of 19 he was discovered by the American guitarist Stefan Grossman , who took him on to his label Kicking Mule Records . The first album Fingers Bottleneck Guitar Solos , published there , which includes two transcriptions from the 2nd sonata for solo violin by Johann Sebastian Bach , which are now part of the standard guitar repertoire , became one of the label's greatest successes and made the young artist internationally known. Since 1976, Finger has been touring Europe, the USA, Canada and Asia with great success.

In 1988 Finger founded his label Acoustic Music Records , which focuses on the documentation of the German acoustic scene. Many nationally and internationally known guitarists work with the label. Finger has been publishing Akustik Guitar magazine since 1996 .
