Frank Kozik

Frank Kozik (* 1962 in Madrid ) is an American artist.

At 14 he emigrated to Austin , Texas , USA. Kozik originally designed posters for underground rock bands through to well-known bands such as Pearl Jam , Sonic Youth , Pixies , Beck or Soundgarden (for which he even directed a music video). Due to his artistic fame, he was soon hired for advertising campaigns for Nike and Absolut Vodka. In the meantime Kozik is also a well-known name in the designer toy scene.

Kozik lives mainly in San Francisco , where he produces his art and started his own record label, Man's Ruin . His work can be found in well-known locations and galleries such as the CBGB in New York and the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles. His work has also been exhibited in Japan and Europe.

The trademark of many Kozik figures is a burning cigarette, which is then often modified. Kozik's best-known characters are the Smorkin 'Labbits - other works include Dr. Bomb, Smorkin 'Mongers as well as various works in designer toy series such as Dunny, Qees and MAD * L and many more.
