Frank P. Herrnfeld

Frank P. Herrnfeld (born December 20, 1904 in Germany ; † June 1981 in Ventura (California) ) was a German-American engineer and technical developer who was awarded a technology Oscar in 1952 .

Life

Herrnfeld has made a name for himself as an inventor for many years and in this context attracted attention, especially during the Second World War, with a series of devices he developed that were intended to be of use to the US military. With Frank Herrnfeld Engineering Corp. at times he owned his own company in Los Angeles. In 1952, together with Richard M. Haff , Garland C. Misener and the Ansco Film Division of General Aniline and Film Corporation, he received an Oscar for technical merits of class III for, as it was said, "the development of the Ansco color scene tester" ("... for the development of the Ansco color scene tester ").
