Frank Schoppe (born June 5, 1968 in Dortmund ) is a former German handball player and coach . He now works as a performance coach.

Career

The middle back player , who could also be used as a left winger , moved in 1987 from the youth of DJK Oespel-Kley to OSC Dortmund in the Bundesliga . After relegation in the first season, he played six years in the 2nd Bundesliga . Two more in Dortmund and from October 1990 to summer 1994 at TSV GWD Minden . Then he joined the Bundesliga promoted TuS Nettelstedt and thus played again in the top German division. After only one season, however, he switched to the club division TuS Wagenfeld as a player-coach. After three years, he went to HSG Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald in 1998 , where he also worked as a player coach with Hans-Georg Borgmann until 2003 and exclusively as a coach until 2005. He then ended his coaching career for professional reasons and still worked as a sports director for the club.

Schoppe completed twelve international matches for Germany's junior national team.

Private

Schoppe first completed a commercial and from 1995 to 1998 a journalistic training. He then began studying sociology at the University of Bielefeld , which he completed with a diploma. In the meantime he built up a sports management agency and acted in an advisory capacity for athletes and business owners. Today his main area of ​​responsibility is performance coaching.
