The Franken-Center is a large shopping center in Nuremberg district Langwasser . It used to be called Frankenzentrum or Franconian shopping center , or FEZ for short .
history
The Franken-Center was opened on October 23, 1969. It was the first large shopping center of ECE Projektmanagement GmbH, which was also the operator of the center from the start. Initially, it was planned as the central supply center for the Langwasser district, which is currently under construction. Around 946,800 people live in the entire catchment area. In 1979 the center was expanded considerably for the first time, and smaller construction work followed later. It was completely renovated in the early 1990s.

The sales area of the shopping center is around 40,000 m² with over a hundred specialist shops, services and restaurants. The branch mix is dominated by textiles and hardware , a large part of the area is taken up by a department store.
