The Frankenhofner See is a barrage of the Wertach and is used to generate energy.
location
The lake is located about five kilometers southeast of Bad Wörishofen in the Swabian district of Unterallgäu , at river kilometer 55 of the Wertach.
Surname
The lake is named after the nearby Frankenhofen . Occasionally the spelling of Frankenhofener See is also used.
history
The hydropower plant was built between 1969 and 1970 and put into operation on October 7, 1970. The maximum power output is 1.5 megawatts.
