Frankenhofen is a district of the town of Bad Wörishofen on the eastern border of the Swabian district of Unterallgäu , west of the Wertach .
history
The place Frankenhofen comes from the time of the early Alemannic land development. It belonged to the Guelphs and was later inherited by the Hohenstaufen family. In 1227 the Irsee monastery received properties in Frankenhofen. From 1538 the whole of Frankenhofen belonged to the Irsee Monastery. When the monastery was abolished in the course of secularization , the Bavarian state took control of Frankenhofen. Frankenhofen has belonged to Schlingen since the municipal edict of 1818 .
