Franz Allgaier

Franz Allgaier (* 1935 in Lindau ) is a former German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

He was a specialist in cyclo-cross racing and at the beginning of his career he was a record winner (six victories in a row) of the Württemberg championships in cross-country racing in the late 1950s and 1960s. At the German championships he was twice runner-up: in 1962 and 1963 behind Rolf Wolfshohl . In 1965 he won the bronze medal. For the German national team he was in France in 1962 at the start of the UCI World Cup in cyclo-cross racing and was 20th there; In 1963 in Luxembourg he was classified 15th.

His brother Dietmar was also a cyclist and cyclo-cross specialist. He was a participant in the 1967 World Cup.
