Franz Johann Frankopan ( Franciscus de Fragepanibus, Ivan Franjo Frankapan, Ferenc János Frankopan ; * around 1490 ; † January 22 or January 28, 1543 in Pressburg ) was a member of the Frankopan family . He was Archbishop of Kalocsa and from 1538 to 1543 Bishop of Agria . He was the spokesman for King John Zápolya (John) of Hungary.

Franz Johann Frankopan was the son of Bernardin Frankopan and Luisa Marzano.

After the defeat of the Hungarians at Mohács (1526) against the Turks, they spread more and more over the territory of the Kingdom of Hungary. The Habsburgs also had claims to Hungary. As a result of the contract concluded on June 10, 1538 in Wratislauia ( Breslau ) between King Johannes Zápolya of Hungary and King Ferdinand of Habsburg , which went to a balance of interests with regard to mutual territorial and inheritance claims, Emperor Charles V from Toledo writes to King John that he had received the message of the spokesman for Johannes, Franciscus de Fragepanibus , Archbishop of Kalotscha and Bishop of Agria, and had heard the peace efforts between his brother Ferdinand and King Johannes "with the greatest satisfaction".
