Franz Rützler

Franz Josef Rützler (born October 17, 1923 in Sonntag ; † May 15, 1986 in Hard ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ), boiler attendant and factory fitter. From 1964 to 1969 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

After attending the one-class Sunday-Seeberg elementary school, Rützler completed three winters at the agricultural vocational school in Sonntag. From 1937 to December 1941 he worked on his parents' farm and in the contract saw business. He was drafted into the Reich Labor Service from December 1941 to February 1942 and then fought in World War II. In September 1945 he returned from captivity. After returning home, he worked again in his parents' business until May 1946, but had to give up his agricultural activity due to the consequences of the war. In June 1946 he joined the chemical factory Dr. Eberle and completed an apprenticeship as a stoker and fitter. He completed his training with the stoker examination. As a part-time job he was employed by the federal insurance company.

Politics and functions

After Rützler had been a member of "Young Austria" between 1935 and 1938, he joined the Austrian People's Party and the ÖAAB in July 1946 . From 1947 to 1962 he acted as chairman of the ÖAAB Hard and was a member of the ÖAAB regional group board at state level from 1949. From 1960 he was also a member of the regional council of the ÖAAB Vorarlberg and deputy regional chairman. In the ÖVP he worked at local level from 1949 as a member of the ÖVP local party leadership Hard, in 1956 he took over the office of local party chairman of the ÖVP Hard. At the state level, he was a member of the state party leadership and a member of the state party council of the ÖVP Vorarlberg.

Rützler represented the ÖVP as a member of the Bregenz constituency from October 29, 1964 to October 28, 1969 in the Vorarlberg state parliament, where he was a member of the Legal and Immunity Committee, a member and deputy chairman of the Agriculture Committee and a member of the Economics Committee. In terms of local politics, Rützler was a substitute member of the Hard municipal council from 1950 to 1955 and a member of the local council from 1955 to 1970.

Private

Franz Rützler was the son of the farmer Pirmin Rützler from Sonntagberg and his wife Delfina Rützler, née Burtscher. He married Rosa Birnbaumer on October 17, 1946 and had five daughters.
