Franz Rupp (politician)

Franz Rupp (born April 16, 1938 in Höflein ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 1975 to 2005 he was mayor of Höflein and from 1981 to 1993 member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

After finishing primary and secondary school, Rupp attended an agricultural college and then worked as a farmer in Höflein. Politically, he was initially active in local politics, where he was elected to the municipal council of Höflein in 1965 . In 1970 he took over the role of a managing councilor and between 1975 and 2005 he was mayor of Höflein. Furthermore, Rupp was active within the party between 1978 and 1993 as the ÖVP main district party chairman, and from 1988 he was active as a deputy chairman and from 1992 to 2001 as chairman of the Association of Lower Austrian Municipal Representatives of the ÖVP. Rupp was awarded the professional title of Economics Council.

Rupp represented the ÖVP between February 19, 1981 and June 7, 1993 in the Lower Austrian state parliament. Otto Auer succeeded him as mayor of Höflein in 2005 .
