Franz Simoner

Franz Simoner (born August 12, 1898 in Harlanden ; † July 29, 1955 ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP / ÖVP ) and farmer. Simoner was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1932 to 1938 .

After primary school, Simoner attended the winter technical school in Tulln an der Donau and did his military service from 1916 to 1917 during the First World War. After taking over his father's agriculture in 1920, he was also involved in local politics and was a member of the Erlauf municipal council between 1924 and 1932 . In addition, from 1933 to 1938 he held the position of chairman of the Pöchlarn warehouse cooperative and was also chairman of the agricultural training association. Simoner represented the Christian Social Party between May 21, 1932 and October 30, 1934 in the Lower Austrian state parliament and was then a member of the state parliament from November 22, 1934 to March 12, 1938, with Simoner being a representative of agriculture and forestry.

After the Second World War, Simoner joined the newly founded Austrian People's Party and was mayor from 1949 to 1955. In addition, he worked from 1950 to 1955 as chairman of the Melk District Chamber of Farmers and between 1945 and 1952 was the main district party chairman of the ÖVP.
