Franz Tost

Franz Tost (born January 20, 1956 in Trins , Tyrol / Austria ) is the team boss of Scuderia Alpha Tauri in Formula 1 .

Career

Franz Tost was a racing driver in Formula Ford and Formula 3 . In 1983 he won the Austrian Formula Ford Championship.

After completing his sports management studies, he worked at the Walter Lechner racing school. He later worked as a team manager at EUFRA Racing, Team Vienna, Team Princial and the Formula 3 team WTS. From 2000 to 2005 he was Track Operations Manager at BMW Motorsport . Since 2005 he has been team manager at the Formula 1 team Scuderia Alpha Tauri (formerly Scuderia Toro Rosso ). He achieved his best results of the season with a sixth place in 2008 and 2019.
