Franziska Emmerling

Franziska Emmerling (* 1975 in Bad Dürkheim ) is a German chemist. She is the head of the materials chemistry department at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing . She is the author of more than 200 specialist articles. From 2010 to 2013 she was visiting professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Career

From 1994 to 2000 Emmerling studied chemistry at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . In 2003 she completed her doctorate there and her dissertation was awarded the Arthur Lüttringhaus Prize. After a postdoc with Claudia Felser at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , she became head of the structural analysis department at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in 2005 . Between 2010 and 2013 she was visiting professor for inorganic chemistry at the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Her research is concerned with in-situ investigations of crystallization processes, nanoparticle formation and mechanochemistry .
