Franziska Konitz

Franziska Konitz (born November 24, 1986 in Berlin ) is a German judoka .

Since 2007 she has been a member of the Kienbaum Federal Police Sports School , the federal police's top-level sports sponsorship facility for summer and year-round sports.

Life

Konitz started judo at the age of five. After the 6th grade, she moved to a sports high school. As a teenager she still fought in the class up to 78 kilograms and then switched to the heavyweight class and the open category as an active member of the German Judo Association.

successes

Konitz was three times European champion in the classes U17 (2002), U20 (2004 and 2005). In addition, she became vice world champion in the U 20 age group in 2004. In 2008 she won the bronze medal at the European Judo Championships and at the 2009 European Judo Championships in Tbilisi. At the Judo World Championships in 2009 she reached 5th place. Konitz was 5 times German champion in her class (2003 in Leipzig, 2010 and 2009 and 2008 in Bayreuth, 2007 in Neuhof).
