Frauenkircherl Erding

The Frauenkircherl in Erding is a former church that is now used for art exhibitions.

history

In 1390 the small church was built in the late Gothic style as a three-aisled basilica . It was badly damaged in a fire in 1648 and replaced with an onion dome in 1666 .

In 1803, the secularization meant the end of the house of God. Parts of the former church have been integrated into adjacent buildings over time. In the early 1970s, the fire station was housed in the remaining hull.

Since 1986, after a thorough renovation, the building has been used as an exhibition and concert space.

Carillon

A carillon can be heard in the tower three times a day in winter and four times in summer. Three songs are played that change every season, including famous folk songs, but also marches like "American Patrol".
