Fred Netherton
Fred Netherton is an American rockabilly musician.
Life
Netherton's first release was likely The Wildwood Rock b / w Dear What About You with the Wildwood Trio. The trio consisted of Netherton ( vocals / guitar ), Dwight Houston ( electric guitar ) and Jerry Myers ( double bass ). With this economical line-up and a typical style of playing, Wildwoock Rock is at least a classic rockabilly. In 1961 the single was followed by an EP on Rural Rhythm Records, which also contained a cover of Carl Perkins ' Matchbox . Now it was not the Wildwood Trio but the Wildwood Playboys who accompanied Netherton. The band was expanded to include a drum kit and a piano .
In 1963, Netherton's last known single was released on the Starday Package Deal label Day Records.
