Freddy Burger (born December 29, 1945 ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and music manager.

Life

From 1961 to 1964 he did an apprenticeship as a structural draftsman. In 1965 he organized concerts with Cliff Richard and the Shadows, The Small Faces and The Kinks . From 1965 to 1967 Burger was part of the management of Les Sauterelles . From 1967 to 1970 he had a job at the concert & theater office Carl Schlaepfer. In 1967 he took over the management of Pepe Lienhard . In 1969 he founded Rent-a-Show AG. In 1974 he was in the management of Paola del Medico. Burger was a partner of Good News Productions from 1976 to 1980. In 1977 he worked on the production of the musical Tell with Alexis Korner. From 1977 to 2014 he was in the management of Udo Jürgens , from 1979 to 1981 with Katja Ebstein , from 1984 to 1988 with Hazy Osterwald & The Entertainers, from 1985 to 1988 with Rolf Knie , Gaston & Pipo (theater) and from 1988 to 1993 with Walter Roderer . Burger was involved in Nana Mouskouri's tour organization from 1982 to 2003 . From 1985 to 1992 he worked for the Swiss general agency of Puma. In 1997 he took part in the launch of the ReWATCH recycling clock (with partner Dieter Meier). In 1999 and 2000 he was the organizer of the K1 Fight Nights with Andy Hug in the Hallenstadion (with partner Thomas Kastl). In 2000 he participated in the founding of B&B Endemol AG and in 2001 in the opening of the “Adagio” club in Berlin. In 2005 he received a gold award from the Xaver Awards in the Event Business category as the general contractor of the FIFA Centennial World Player Gala. From 2006 to 2009 he was the organizer of the Rose d'Or TV festival in Lucerne. In 2007 he received a Live Entertainment Award Best Management, in 2009 a Zurich Hotelier Award for commitment in favor of Theater 11, in 2010 a Rose d'Or Lucerne rose of honor, in 2011 a Medal of Honor from the City of Zurich and in 2013 a Swiss Nightlife Award. In 2015 he had the Swiss premiere of Disney's The Lion King at the Musical Theater Basel, and in 2017 he also performed the Swiss premiere of Disney's Mary Poppins at Theater 11 Zurich.

He is the father of three sons. Since September 9, 2019, he has been married to the psychosocial counselor Isabella Recker for the third time.
