Bredenbeck outdoor pool
The former Bredenbeck outdoor swimming pool is a registered natural monument in the Wennigsen municipality . It is located in the Deister on the outskirts of the village of Bredenbeck . It bears the number ND-H 51 in the list of natural monuments in the Hanover region. The special need for protection lies in the biodiversity of the closed and reclaimed bathing establishment for reptiles and amphibians.
In the former Rottekuhlen , where flax was once stored for further processing, there had been a temporary bathing establishment from 1919 onwards by the Gut Heil and Frei Heil associations . In 1927 helpers bricked them up. The resulting outdoor pool was closed around 1960 because it no longer met the hygienic requirements. The protected area is an atypical natural monument, since it is not an individual creation of nature according to the legal guidelines, but an area reclaimed by nature.
