The Freiburg Institute for Musicians 'Medicine (FIM) represents the field of music physiology and musicians' medicine at the Freiburg University of Music .

The institute - founded in 2005 - is part of the Freiburg University of Music and the Medical Faculty of the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . It is directed by Claudia Spahn and Bernhard Richter . With its teaching in the field of music physiology and musician's medicine, the institute is aimed at music students with the aim of imparting practical skills and theoretical knowledge about musician's medicine. These include u. a. the areas of movement learning, performance training and stage fright . At the Freiburg University Medical Center, the institute also operates an outpatient clinic for treating musicians with specific health problems.

Since its inception, the institute has developed a multimodal therapy model for treating fear of performing. The model integrates different therapeutic approaches - depth psychology and behavioral therapy, body-oriented and mental - with practical stage and musical content and exercises.
