The Freiburg drama school in E-Werk was founded in 1985 in Freiburg im Breisgau and is now a state-recognized vocational school with the qualification “stage maturity”. It is based in the E-Werk cultural center .

The training extends over four school years. It is divided into a basic course and a main course, each with four semesters. Funding for trainees after the Bafög is possible if the requirements are met.

The course is structured systematically. Course content, teaching objectives, material distribution plans as well as examination and school regulations have been expertly examined and approved by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs . Qualified and experienced teachers teach the subjects offered. The lessons include up to 32 lessons per week, plus rehearsals take place for pieces that are performed. The rehearsals are scheduled by the director.

The public appearances enable the prospective actors to gain practical experience during their training by working under professional conditions: working with the director, playing in front of an audience and theater critics.

In order to meet the current demands of the acting profession, the Freiburg Drama School expanded its training program for the 2008 winter semester to include the subject of film acting / camera acting .

Well-known students at the facility are Mark Keller , Sarah Mühlhause , Moritz Tittel , Kai Albrecht , Marian Meder , Florian Rexer , Carola Sigg .
