Free Ukraine
The Association of Free Ukraine , in full: Association of German Supporters of the Ukrainian Freedom Efforts , was a German association to promote the separation of Ukraine from Russia , which was founded on December 11, 1915 .
The founding members included Emil Kirdorf , Alfred Hugenberg , Konstantin Freiherr von Gebsattel and Falk Schupp , who was the association's general secretary from 1915 to 1918 .
The ideological basis came from Paul Rohrbach , who wanted to break Russian power with a "decomposition theory" by developing the nationalism of Russian foreign peoples.
In 1916 the association had 125 members. The association published a magazine on Eastern European Future .
With the October Revolution and the later founding of the Soviet Union , the association's goals were temporarily put on hold and its activities ceased.
A Central European Business Day has been a continuation of the association since the mid-1920s, but it is intended to be more extensive.
