Free Havelbruch is an extensive lowland east and southeast of Wollin in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . In the 19th century there was a parish with the same name.

geography

The extensive lowland, consisting mainly of agricultural land, is located in the north-west of the Glogau-Baruther glacial valley . It extends from the northwest to the southeast over parts of the districts of Wollin, Reckahn , Krahne , Lucksfleiß , Groß Briesen , Golzow and Ragösen . The northwestern end of the lowland is located around the Schöpfungsberg and the confluence of the Kleiner Temnitz in the Temnitz, not far to the north . This area is bordered by the forest area Freie Heide in the west, the federal motorway 2 in the north and the Krahner Busch in the east. This area was marked on historical maps with the field name "Die Schlachten".

The aforementioned Temnitz represents in large parts the eastern border of the break and serves as the most important drainage. The partially wooded hills between Golzow and Ragösen limit the lowland in the southeast. In the southwest, a distinctive range of hills with the Briesen mountains forms the border and in the west the hills around the town of Brückermark .
