Loading track
A loading track is a track on which freight wagons are placed so that they can be loaded and unloaded. The track can be located on a loading street and is then also referred to as an open loading track, as well as on a loading ramp , where it is also called a ramp track. Loading tracks can be under the open sky, but they can also be covered in warehouses .
Additional devices such as scales or devices for checking the loading gauge of open freight cars can be installed in the tracks.
Occasionally, sidings with a charging station for accumulator railcars are also referred to as loading siding .
