Leisure forum Marzahn

The Freizeitforum Marzahn (FFM) is a cultural center in the Berlin district of Marzahn in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district and is located on Victor-Klemperer-Platz .

history

The Freizeitforum Marzahn was planned by the architect Wolf-Rüdiger Eisentraut according to the plans of a design office within the Baukombinate Civil Engineering Berlin after a competition success between the years 1983 and 1988 and built between the years 1988 and 1992 in several construction phases. At the end of 1991 the Freizeitforum Marzahn was completely opened. In 1995 the Berlin Senate handed over the Kulturhaus to the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district . The Marzahn leisure forum has been operated by the Society for Urban Development (GSE) gGmbH since 2004.

According to the representation of the architect, the building is based on earlier culture house concepts. The following facilities are housed here: the Mark Twain district central library , a swimming pool with sauna, the FAIR youth recreational facility , a women's sports hall, a bowling alley, the Arndt Bause room, a studio stage and four club rooms. Until the mid-2010s there was also a restaurant and the Malibu dance bar . The Engel pastry shop and bakery was then housed here.
