Order of Friendship (Vietnam)

The Order of Friendship ( Vietnamese : Huân chương Hữu nghị) is a service award given by the Vietnamese government to "foreigners and collectives of foreigners who do great service in building, strengthening and developing friendship between Vietnam and other countries in the world".

The order of friendship can be awarded to foreigners and foreign organizations or awarded posthumously if the following criteria are met:

  • The spirit of solidarity and friendship; Respect for the independence, laws and customs of Vietnam.
  • Important contributions to the construction industry and economic development - Merits in strengthening and developing friendly relations and good cooperation in politics, economy, defense, security, diplomacy, science, technology, environmental protection, culture and society between Vietnam and other countries or regional / interregional institutions as well international organizations.
