Friary Island is an island in the River Thames in England , above Bell Weir Lock at Wraysbury , Berkshire . On the opposite side of the river at Old Windsor was a monastery that gave the island its name.
The island is inhabited and built with around 40 houses. It is connected to the mainland by a road bridge.
