Frieda Mätz

Frieda Mätz (born October 19, 1902 in Peine , † October 30, 1975 in Lehrte ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Mätz completed a commercial apprenticeship after school and then worked as an office worker. From 1920 she belonged to the SPD. She was the leader of the child friends movement in the SPD and was involved in the workers' welfare in Peine. She was a member of the district council in Peine from 1930 to 1932 and emigrated to Luxembourg through her marriage in 1932 , but returned to Hanover after a stay of several years. She was bombed out in Hanover in 1943 and then moved back to Peine, where she was a member of the city council from 1945. On April 20, 1947, she entered the Lower Saxony state parliament in its first electoral term, to which she was a member until April 30, 1951.
