Peace film prize of the city of Osnabrück
The Osnabrück Peace Film Prize is awarded to a feature or documentary film that combines its aesthetic quality in an outstanding way with human thinking and social commitment.
Selection of the award winners
The films that can be chosen will be shown at the Independent FilmFest Osnabrück . The film prize was last donated by the Sievert Foundation for Science and Culture and was endowed with 15,000 euros in 2019. In addition, a prize for the representation of children's rights and two prizes for short films will be awarded.
The underlying concept of peace encompasses the entire range from international conflicts to social disputes and family problems. In particular, contributions to the following topics will be selected:
- Migration : displacement , asylum , exile
- International conflicts
- Development policy and environmental policy
- Human rights and freedoms
- Peace policy , peace research
A three-person jury of experts selects the winner. The jury is made up of well-known representatives from the film industry, peace work and journalism. The Peace Film Prize will be presented at an award ceremony at the end of the FilmFest.
