The Friedenskirche in Achmer

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Peace Achmer (church district and political community Bramsche; Sprengel Osnabrück ; Landeskirche Hannover ) was opened on the 3rd Advent in 1961. On January 1, 1962, Achmer's Protestant parishioners broke away from the mother church of St. Martin in Bramsche .

First a parish hall and a rectory were built, with a wooden bell carrier with two steel bells in between. The construction of a separate church building was promised. For the time being, the services were to take place in the large hall of the parish hall, which was equipped for this purpose with a simple altar table, pulpit and harmonium. Over the years, the prospect of having its own church building dwindled, and the regional church had put all corresponding plans on hold. So the growing community had to make the temporary solution a permanent solution. In 1979 a concrete bell tower was built with new bells (c 'and es', Karlsruher Glocken- und Kunstgießerei), an organ was installed in 1983 ( Detlef Kleuker Orgelbau; Manual: Gedackt 8 ′, Prinzipal 4 ′, Rohrflöte 4 ′, Gemshorn 2 ′ , Mixtur III; Pedal : Subbass 16 ′).

In 1995 the parish hall was completely renovated and rebuilt, an extension with a kitchen and toilet rooms was added. The hall was also expanded, but equipped with a partition so that the service can take place in the front area, other community events in the back, but if necessary a large room with around 200 seats is available. The church interior received colored windows by the artist Edith Temmel from Graz. In 2003 the altar table and the old pulpit were replaced by new furnishings made of limed wood from Barbara Übel's workshop.

In 2010 the parish had around 1,600 parishioners.
