Peace Square (Prague)
The Peace Square ( Namesti Miru ) is a place in the Prague district of Vinohrady (Vineyards) and belongs to the municipality. 2
The square forms the center of the quarter, with the inner part closed to traffic and created as a park. In the middle of the square is the church of St. Ludmilla , named after Ludmilla of Bohemia . There are many important buildings in the district nearby, such as the Divadlo na Vinohradech Theater (Theater in the Vineyards), the Národní dům na Vinohradech (National House in the Vineyards), a cultural and social center of the 2nd district and larger office buildings. The monument in honor of Josef Čapek and Karel Čapek is also on the square.
Friedensplatz is served by lines 4, 10, 16 and 22 of the Prague tram; Furthermore, the same name is located 53 meters below the square Náměstí Míru metro station of metro line A , the second deepest underground station of the European Union. The course of the future metro line D is also planned over Friedensplatz, for the time being as the northern end stop.
