His works are among others in the Denver Art Museum , the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montreal, Canada, the David Roberts Art Foundation, London, Tel Aviv Museum of Modern Art, Israel, at the Museum of Modern Art, Moscow, in the White House and in the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC, in the Museum Würth in Schwäbisch Hall, the Burger Collection Hong Kong, the White Cube Collection in London, the Kunsthalle Rostock and in the KunstWerk of the Alison & Peter W. Klein collection , Eberdingen / Stuttgart.

" I speed up and slow down the color, " says the painter of his method. Through the streaks of the blurred surface of the picture, Denzler's paintings appear as if the time on them had congealed into abstraction. Andy Denzler's works move between reduction and stretched reality. Using the classic means of oil painting, the artist tries to explore the boundaries between the fictional and the real world. Through his mostly horizontal squeegee or smudging of the oil paint, which he previously applied to the canvas in heavy impasto and in thick layers, he achieved the impression of motion blur of the object or the impression of a distorted video recording. Time freezes. There are snapshots of what is happening, blurry, distorted movements, freeze frames that move stylistically between photorealism and abstract expressionism . Denzler often alludes to other media in his paintings.

reception

Denzler's works are snapshots of events that take place in the span of brief moments. Their movements are blurred and distorted, with an artificially smeared period of time that is prolonged into frozen eternity like the oscillating images of a VHS tape in a pause position. (art-in.de, November 23, 2014 )

The motifs are precisely set, but cannot be precisely localized due to the blurring of the edges. Accessories (such as rucksacks) define what is happening in the picture as now. The here and now does not seem static, however, but as realized in "fleeting images", in passing images, just as if the protagonists wanted to catch the fleeting butterfly of life with the nets of wonder (based on Glen Campbell). ( Gerhard Charles Rump , Die WELT, July 31, 2010)

Andy Denzler deals intensively and with interest with the medium and the ideal and representational possibilities of painting today, whereby he occupies an important and independent position in the international art scene and arouses great interest among collectors.
