Beanland Cemetery
The Bohnenland cemetery is a municipal cemetery in Brandenburg an der Havel .
history
With the settlement of the Bohnenland suburb at the instigation of King Frederick II , who had a spinner colony built on this site around 1750 , a burial place was created at the southern end of the settlement. The area was leveled for the construction of the rectangular cemetery. On the south side, a slope forms the end of the adjacent forest. The cemetery is separated from the street by a lilac hedge.
The rows of graves are aligned at right angles to the land of the colonists. The center of the cemetery is a large linden tree that was planted around 1850.
The cemetery is a well-preserved example of one of the colonist settlement cemeteries established in the 18th century.
