Sindlingen cemetery
The Sindlingen cemetery is the cemetery in the Frankfurt-Sindlingen district of Frankfurt am Main .
history
The Sindlingen cemetery was originally the churchyard of St. Dionysius . Since this church had become too small, it was demolished in 1823 and today's larger church was built. Due to the larger space required by the church, the churchyard had become too small and a new cemetery was created at the northern gusset of the roads to Höchst and Zeilsheim. This too had become too small 90 years later. In 1912, today's Sindlingen cemetery was built on an area of 6 hectares. It has space for 1500 graves. The old cemetery was cleared in 1967/68.
