Fuchsbude Kristiánov in the Jizera Mountains

The Berghaus Liščí bouda ( German  Fuchsbaude ) was originally the private apartment of the Fuchs family, from which it also received its current name. The hut was originally at number 52 in what was then the Kristiánov ( Christiansthal ) glassblower settlement . The house was built in 1775. The Fuchs family lived here at the beginning of the 19th century. Later, the house was converted into a hut-inn, and after the decline of the glass industry, it was converted into an inn for hikers with accommodation. Since 1963 the house has belonged to the Museum of Glass and Jewelery in Jablonec nad Nisou ( Gablonz an der Neisse ). It offers visitors a small exhibition about the history of the Kristiánov glassmaking settlement.

The log house, in which everything was made of wood except for the foundations and the chimney, is located near the Nová Louka hunting lodge on a main artery of the Jizera Mountains from Nova Louka to the ridge path of the Jizera Mountains . Nearby places are Bedřichov , Janov nad Nisou and Josefův Důl in the Okres Jablonec nad Nisou in Northern Bohemia. The Josefův Důl dam is located south of the Fuchsbaude below .

Today the hut serves as an intermediate point and restaurant for hikes in the Jizera Mountains. In winter, the Jizera Mountains run passes right next to the Fuchsbaude .
